Default Do you always match your shave cream scent to your aftershave?

I wondered if everyone always matches their scents.

It's nice when I can do that, but I have very few matching "sets" of both. I normally shave before I shower, so any scent from the cream or soap is rinsed away anyway. When I do shave after a shower, I try to match them if I can. T & H 1805, Taylor's Eton College, Penhaligon's Opus 1870....I think these are the only three I can match.

    Exclamation No

Strictly, I should have to answer 'no' if only because there is a subtle scent, but that doesn't seem adequate in my case. The fact that The Lush Ambrosia shave cream has any scent at all is incidental. It was a gift, works great and only has a very light, creamy scent.

The Thayer's Witch Hazel I use as aftershave has almost no scent at all so maybe there shouldn't even be a comparison. For me that's the job of a good cologne and I don't want any Old Spice in my musk please and thank-you.

PS I actually just have to over explain everything, but I'm gonna vote different routine anyway.

I don't specifically match things, meaning I don't layer T&H 1805 shaving cream with the a/s balm and cologne, but I do try for similar or complimenting scents.

I don't have the aftershave or cologne that goes with my favorite shave cream. Yet

I generally do or at least something that compliments it. I don't have a matching stuff for everything, but I think generally what goes well with together. For example if I'm using a sandalwood soap/cream, then I usually don't use some aftershave that is more citrus or lime, but use a bayrum or something along those lines. Of couse I have some bayrum with lime as well, so who knows...

I just use whatever I think will compliment the scent of my soap/cream. Of course, people around me may have a different opinion about that

I voted yes because I use bayrum/bayrum. The truth is that I went my whole shaving life without aftershave until I went straight. I still dont use aftershave on a daily basis, but I like classic shaving bay rum soap and my girlfriend likes the bay rum after shave. The truth is at first I thought is smelled like cloves, but after using it I actually like it.

I dont think matching is all that important. I want to try some witchhazel for aftershave.

I prefer to mix and match. The aftershave will be the dominant scent anyway, and the scent of the shaving soap fades within a few minutes - at least, it does in my experience.

So, I wear whatever aftershave I feel like smelling like on a give day. Or sometimes, a bit of cologne at the pulse points.

I have a sandalwood, bay rum, and lavender cream and aftershave cream set up. I like to match these when I use them.

I tend towards the nonscented aftershaves since I'm really just trying to take care of the skin. The real challenge comes with deoderant versus cologne I tend towards complimentary herbal scents like old spice classic scent deodorant with something like Safari or Drakkar Noir
