    Default Bay Rum Samples?

Does anyone know anyone other than GFT that makes a shaving soap, shaving oil, or aftershave in Bay Rum??

I am interested in trying something out, but since I have never smelled anything in Bay Rum, it would be a shame to spend all that money not knowing if I actually like the scent!

    If you go here, http://www.ebarbershop.com/shopsite/club.html

Scroll to the bottom, they sell 2oz travel bottles of Clubman Pinaud then $3. Bay Rum is one of them.

    JL,
Check your local drug store. At the Brook's Pharmacy near my house, they have Pinaud's Bay Rum aftershave where the razor stuff is. I don't remember the bottle being sealed; I think I could open it enough to take a sniff. Give that a try.

    JL,

Keep in mind that there are variations between the
Bay Rum products. The Pinaud Bay Rum has a clove/
cinnamon scent to me. The bottles are sealed but
there may be one that somone has opened. I like it.

Others are Col. Conk, soap and aftershave.
    www.saintcharlesshave.com soap and aftershave.
    But have used neither.

Do a search on shavemyface.com They have a more extensive
Aftershave catagory and there are several threads on bay rum.

    Hope this helps,

    Terry

Thanks Terry. I did look at the posts there, and something that everyone seemed to mention was that the bay rum scent does not last long at all. Is this true of all brands?

    JL,

Pinaud seems to last quite a while until say earlier
afternoon. This may differ for you. I would not
reccomend Saint Johns Bay, this stuff is expensive
amd the scent disappears within minutes.
I also have a bottle of Michaelsens that I bought
from www.shoplondons.com It's listed with the
caswell massey products. The Michaelsens that
I bought from www.shoplondons.com seems to
last a while. You can find it under the casswell massey
link. Shoplondons may have samples of it.

JL, check out the Vendor's Corner in this forum. There is a thread called "Bary Rum EDT clarrification". Apart from the fact that Bay was spelled Bary, Sue from www.saintcharlesshave.com makes a great bay rum edt. It is very reasonably priced and the scent last forever. I use her bay rum as well as her "new spice" and both are great. Bay rum is one of those scents that you either love or hate. Her bay rum is the best I've ever tried and I've tried most (kind of smells like christmas mince pies) and the scent lasts all day. Many edt's you buy don't last even an hour. Its a great product, give it a try.
