Default LAVANDA eau de Cologne Arrived today!

Okay so I ordered this Lavanda by Arch Brito an after shave cologne. Reviews rave about this stuff. The only place I found where I can order it from was a portuguese website called FEITORIA. So I wait and wait anxiously for it to be shipped to me from Portugal to NYC. FINALLY it arrives this morning 12 days later. I rip open the huge box. There it is!!! as described!! staring at me in it's beautiful bottle. Bursting with anticipation I unscrew the cap to take in this wonderful scent and to my bewilderment IT SMELLS EXACTLY LIKE BRUT colone. argghhhhhhh I could have saved myself the time and money by walking around the corner from my house and visiting the local Duane Reade drug store.

Have you tried it out? Or just smelled it from the bottle? Hopefully it will smell different when applied as they often do, or it may mature differently and grow into a scent that you appriciate more. If not you still have a great looking bottle! Wish you better luck next time, that's why I get nervous whenever buying aftershave/cologne online.

Well I hope so. I would think that I'd like to get something more out of it for my trouble. We will see how goes it after a few tries. Perhaps you're right and it will smell differently on my skin. I'm not a "brut guy" so i'm hoping to get to like it. it's a BIG bottle. Liking it will make life easier.

    Default Lavanda . . .

    Hello, Komjong:

I think you might like Agua Lavanda Puig. This is an oldie from Spain, lavender plus a few other goodies, and quite refreshing. It does not smell anything like Brut. Apparently it was Frank Sinatra's favorite cologne. There is also the after the shower body splash version of as well. The cologne comes in a green bottle. I have a review of it in the Review section.

    Regards,
    Obie

i always see this stuff in the SOTD thread and i have to say.. i am always kind of attracted to it.. it just looks like classy stuff.

give it a solid week of use before deciding whether to keep using it or not.

    Hello, Jhenry:

Thanks for providing the link to the splash. Don't forget, that's not the cologne. The cologne comes in a standard cologne glass bottle. I have both and like them. Nice and refreshing.

    Regards,
    Obie

    Thanks for the clarification Obie....

And where, might I ask, did you obtain the cologne?

Scent must be one of the most subjective topics - smells like Brut to one, but completely different to another.

Such is the folly of buying colognes/aftershaves/soaps/creams online, as most of us do not have the benefit of sampling before buying. How many of us have pressed the BUY button based on nothing but word of mouth, a vague description and a picture of a fancy bottle?

BTW - I'm guilty of it, too
