In French, you have to say "pee-NOH", with the stress on the last syllable (French stress is always on the last syllable) and both vowels are short.

The "ee" in "Pi" must sound like the "i" in "pick" (not like the "ee" in "fee"), and the "aud" like the short "o" in "pot"), not the long "o" in "know".

Make sure you don't aspirate the initial consonant: in English, initial P sounds are followed by a short "h" puff of air, as in "Pat". None of this happens in French.

The narrow IPA transcription must then be: [pi'no]

Why write it as ee in the first place? To explain the pronunciation of pi.... we write it as pee but pronounce it as pi....? (both instances of pi have a soft i)

Oh crickey! Some people would pronounce "pi" like "pie"....

    That's why I prefer IPA.
