Default Opinion of J. Peterman "1903" line

My wife was looking through a catalog and asked if I wanted some new cream & cologne from this company but I hate buying things without honest reviews or seeing them myself. I'm sure someone here has used this before and I wondered if you'd be kind enough to share your thoughts. Thank you in advance.

I thought this cream was discontinued.

They still show it for sale on their website, along with cologne, cologne spray, aftershave balm and a badger brush to complete their "1903 collection".

    Hi Eric,

I like the shaving cream a good bit. Much better than average performance, and the scent is pretty tasty. I don't use many creams anymore, but that one's still in the rotation.

If you like, I can send out a sample to try. Use the pm feature if that interests you.

'Just a cheers for enabling someone to try some before plunking budget into a 'maybe' thing for them. I suspect we'd all be better off if we did more of this.

Haha - even the title makes me think of Seinfeld....

What does the 1903 line smell like? Is it comparable to something else?

Sorry to revive a dead thread but I've been curious about this too and the answer never seems to have come. What does 1903 smell like? Also, is the brush any good?

Also, I see that there's a review but I can't load it for some reason

I have the peterman 1903 cologne. It's a very unique scent hard to describe, unlike any cologne or aftershave I have smelled. You don't have to worry about anyone wearing the same cologne. i have used it since like 1998, there was a J. Peterman store at the shopping outlets near me and I went in and picked it up, to be honest the spray lasts a lot longer. I am in the market for a new one actually. It might be a little expensive, but I found it to be worth it, it doesn't "wear off" quickly and yet not over powering. I hope this helps, but when I looked at my post I realized I wrote a paragragh and didn't say anything. :-/

Lol, that's fine. Would you say it was on the woodier side or kinda citrus-ey or more spicy?
