    Moonshine,

Congrats on finding a nice fragrance you can live with.

Pinaud makes several nice, inexpensive aftershaves. Clubman, which is a less expensive version of Dana's Canoe, is probably their best known, but they also make a respectable bay rum that several SRP members like too.

You may be a bit disappointed with the Proraso. Its nice and cooling after a shave, but I don't really find it anything to rave about.

It's good stuff. I would highly recommend trying Ogallala. Unless I'm very much mistaken, it will make a very welcome addition to your collectionl

+1 on the clubman, here lately i have been using that pretty much exclusivly, reminds me of my father. i cant do the aqua velva or old spice either, and all those new scents(axe, and hollister) those seem to be for the much younger crowd, no offense to anyone that likes them, but my 11 yo son wears axe, why i dont know.

hahaha.. i remember when i was 11.. i wore pierre cardin.. a gift set from my grandmother.

now i regularly sport the clubman.. the original, bay rum, and also the reserve.. the old spice and aqua velva are also in the rotation.. along with english leather, jovan sex appeal, and pashana.

    Default Pinaud Clubman

    Gentlemen:

Pinaud's Clubman is way of life.

    A philosophy.

An invitation to knock on heaven's gate.

It's the air from an old barbershop where everything with the world was right and life was sweet.

Moonshine, my good man, welcome to the cozy world of Pinaud's Clubman.

    Regards,

    Uh, Obie,

You're supposed to apply the Clubman to your face and neck, not DRINK IT! But yes, I think I am starting to understand!

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that Clubman Pinaud is the domiant after shave that most barbers use after doing a shave. Thus it reminds most of us of old time barbers. My pop, however, has used Witch Hazel for sixty years or so, thus i have no assoication with Clubman Pinaud. I use Witch Hazel on ocasion.
