ColonelG,
How kind of you, my dear friend. Thank you for the sweet words. Yes, those are fine aftershaves.
Another one that is a gem, although almost impossible to find, because it is no longer made, is Woods of Windsor. This is a British delight, in aftershave and cologne, that was sadly discontinued. You can still find a bottle here and there. If you see it, grab it. Neroli, bergamot and leather add up to make an extraordinarily pleasant way to finish the shave. You can still get Woods of Windsor in aftershave balm cream, but the splashes are gone.
Find it. You'll love it. It sits on the lighter side somewhere between the Trumper Spanish Leather and Truefitt & Hill Spanish Leather. I am quite fond of Woods of Windsor aftershave splash. I wish it were still available.
Stay well.

Thanked: 1195Obie, since this thread has been resurrected from the dead, has your list changed in the last 3 years?
I took a look at my offerings and would say that at least a couple could be dethroned

Hello Ryan,
I don't know how many more aftershaves and colognes I have gone through since I started this thread, but I keep coming back to the first four. My Woods of Windsor is almost gone and that is sad. Let me review my Immortal Seven and revise the list:
1. Spanish Leather (Truefitt & Hill)
2. Spanish Leather (Geo F Trumper)
3. Woods of Windsor
4. English Leather
5. No. 6 (Caswell-Massey) (retired)
6. No. 74 Victoria Lime (Taylor of Old Bond Street) (almost retired)
7. Endymion (Penhaligon's) (retired)
Right now I am out of the Penhaligon's and Casell-Massey and will not replace them. Also not replace the Victoria Lime. The English Leather, to which I was introduced around 1961, has been a steady friend. I buy a bottle on sale around Christmas from the local pharmacy and it lasts until the next Christmas. So then my list will shrink to the Immortal Four — until something comes along that really strikes my fancy.

Well, my seven are Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn, Brad Dexter, and Horst Buchholz, and...oh wait that's the Magnificent Seven.
I actually don't have seven just a couple of bay Rums I use now and then and the MDC spray. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Yes, I did retire Blenheim Bouquet and Endymion. They are lovely but too expensive. As I mentioned earlier, I forget how many other aftershaves I have gone through since I started this thread, but nothing has grabbed me. The new designer aftershaves and colognes — to me — all smell alike and I don't bother with them. Bay rum I dislike immensely, so that's always been out. I had a bottle of it some years ago and my wife and daughters made me pour it down the drain, because they disliked it, too. Still, I will continue to keep an eye out for something that strikes my fancy. Nothing so far except the first four I listed.

Obie,
What's old for you is Brand Spanking New for me, so I'm still quite hopeful regarding those that dropped off your list.
Oh, and I'll keep my eye out for Woods of Windsor.
I love these older threads gentlemen!
