Default does anyone know where to get thayer's?

via brick and mortar, that is. i hate the thought of paying 5 bucks for shipping when purchasing a 9 dollar item. also, does it work?

    Cyrano,

Where are you? If you'll edit your profile, you can add a city or state, or both! Location info is invaluable when trying to suggest places to find items. I get mine from Wild Oats and GNC. Check natural food stores or health stores. At GNC, they told me they did not stock it, and when I found it and paid for it, they were surprised. Not all GNC stores may stock it. Also, check HEB or Whole Foods.

One of RT's favourite pet-peeves lol. Now could one of you gentlemen tell me what's so special about Thayer's?

yeah sorry i didn't want to at first because i'm worried people will steal my identity. that would suck because then they'd have to pay back all my college loans.

but i was also wondering what's so special about thayer's, or witch hazel in general, for that matter.

witch hazel is an astringent. which means it closes pores and stops bleeding by tightening/contracting the skin. you will reduce ingrown hairs, razor burn, and stop the bleeding of little nicks/cuts.

the reason people use Thayers over Dickenson's, which you can buy at your local drugstore, is that Thayers is alcohol free (and comes in nice scents). so its much less of a burn sensation when you apply. yes it still has some burn to it, but its not bad .

shave, cold rinse, dry face...then spritz on some thayers... allow to dry a bit then put on your aftershave lotion. i personally bought a 99cent small spritzer plastic bottle at the drugstore to apply the thayers, it works great.

its really quite pleasant. GNC had it in lavender and rose at my local store (alcohol free).

It IS one of my pet peeves. Location is important. First, it's just nice to know where folks are, but more imporantly, it's frustrating to try to assist someone with products when you have no idea where they are located. It's a simple thing, and most guys just don't think about it. On one of the DE forums, there was a gent who was ALWAYS asking where to find products, and he was asked to include his location. Well, in that particular thread he would list it, but then turn around and ask "location" questions in a different thread. I finally sent him a pm telling him when he wanted to know where products could be found, to "ask someome who knows where you live!"

I live in Maine and it is not exactly the cultural epicenter of the world... But I have found Thayers at both of the grocery stores nearby in the Organic foods section. They both have a small isle with stuff like Burts bees creams, hemp soaps, and Thayers. They dont have the rose or Lemon but its what I prefer. If you have a large organic grocery store or even a small natural foods store nearby they probably have it.

I prefer the Thayers to the Dickensons. Dickensons just smells a little to strong for me.

well...give me a littlecredit. i already figured there weren't any other florida members here. i certainly didn't expect someone to tell me where i could get some locally, i just hoped someone could tell me if target or walmart or any of those box stores typically carry it. i guess i should have been more specific.

having said that, though, feel free to go read my freshly updated profile that lists my address, phone number, social security number, and the names of all my friends and relatives.

by the way, rt, thank you for your help and all the info you sent me about DE's. very helpful!
