    Default Hinoki Scent 1

For years I've been using Hinoki Scent number 1 from Commes des Garcons/Monocle, and I love the woody cedar smell.

But since I started shaving with a straight razor, I've also enjoyed splash on aftershave a lot more. But I'm not particularly happy buying the same old huge brand aftershave where I'm sure I'm paying for the brand more than the product. I'd rather pay twice the money and get a quality product...

I have two problems with the Hinoki scent. One is that it's very strong as an eau de toilette, and so I can't apply very liberally or my colleagues pass out in the office. The second is that every time i get on an airplane, half of the bottle disappears....

I suppose my questions would be:
Does anyone know why half of the EDT disappears on an airplane (both in hand baggage and hold baggage)? And what can be done about it?

And secondly, can anyone suggest an alternative splash on aftershave with a scent in the same direction? (Here's the adverstising blurb describing the scent "Hinoki is a cedary, woody scent inspired by Japanese hot-spring baths and Scandinavian forests.

    I appreciate the advice!

If it helps, "Hinoki" is Japanese cypress, so a cyprus scent might be helpful.
