aftershave samples
Hello gents, I have hit the problem of being nearly out of my favorite aftershave, and sadly they've changed the scent since it was purchased. So I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy samples of different aftershaves. I'd love to try some of the trumper's, and Dr Harris but I'm cheap and would prefer not to spend the money only to realize the I (or more importantly the little miss) dont like. If you know of anyone that has just about any sample of aftershaves it wpuld be much appreciated even if its not one of the previous mentioned.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

Thanked: 14You can get samples directly from Trumper's, and also from Ogallala Bay Rum. Just google each company and you can order samples from their website.

Thanked: 1195Both Truefitt & Hill and Trumpers have samplepacks, and at a reasonable cost too. I'm not sure about Harris, but those are a great place to start.

You could always order some samples from SRD. They are their house brand but it is a nice way to trying a lot of different cents. I have a little wood fat soap left so drop one of their sample wedges in the bowl with it. Gets me the best of both worlds, a nice conditioning soap with some nice aroma.

Trumpers came in today I'll be trying them out tomorrow. Dr harris sells "scented tissues" for $5 as samplers of two of their scents.

First of all for $8 shipped to the US this is a great deal. I love the creams and I think I'll have to pick some up in possibly the violet or GFT. Prior to this I'd only used Stetson aftershave splash and a hand full of Balms from T&H, I thought that post shave balms were just not for me, they left my skin oily and sensitive for the rest of the day. Well I said what the hell and tried both the coral and the Lime skin food from GFT not wanting to waste a sample, I was amazed how nice they both were, my skin is soft and irritation free. I was also pleased to find that the scents dissipated quickly leaving only a hint that I think will only blend and enhance just about any scent you choose to wear also. The colognes come in little 2oz glass bottles with stoppers, I simply pulled the stopper off and smelled each and was disappointed to find I was not a fan of any. By chance today i decided to smell them again, this time accidentally getting a little of the Eucris on my hand. Well I finished picking every thing up and started to wash it off my hand when I realized that the scent was actually very nice, moral of the story put a little of the samples on you hand or wrist and wear it for a minute or two. I've test driving Eucris today, and cant wait to try the Bay rum tomorrow. Thanks to GFT I'm debating just using skin food after a shave then adding Cologne instead of scented aftershave.

Thanked: 1195Thats called the "dry down". It usually takes a minute or so for the fragrance to settle, and it's interaction with your own body chemistry will determine it's final outcome. Therefore, when sampling a frag it's important to let the sample dry down to allow the notes to come through before purchasing.
As for the Skin Food, many guys use it as their AS and then go directly to a cologne/EDT, it's totally up to you.
