Thanked: 485'Oscar' Natural pre-shave Oil
Hi, I 'snuck' this into the shopping cart the other day while shopping with the wife in the supermarket; 6 bucks it was. It's made of Grape Seed oil, Meadowfoam seed oil, Vitamin E (natural), Jojoba Australian oil, Sandlewood Australian oil, Lavender Australian oil, Ylang Ylang 2nd oil, Bisabolol, Tea Tree oil, Litsea Cubeba oil and Rosehip oil (as listed on the pack), so, basically, it's oil, nothing else. It's really nice; a nice Ylang Ylang scent, VERY slick, in an airless pump pack (15ml). Made in Australia. I'd highly recommend it if you can find it. I was using Proraso pre shave cream, but I actually like this better; my skin after the shave seems softer than with Proraso. I'm not currently using a post shave treatment at all. Anyone else try this? I did a search here and came up with no results. To tell you the truth, I also considered using it to wipe on the razor after use rather than Eucalyptus that I'm using now. Also, anyone every try spraying or dropping drops of pre-shave oil directly onto your shave soap (a la Überlather)? I'm going to try Windsor shave soap (love it, and it's cheap!) in my ironstone scuttle sprayed with the Oscar pre-shave oil, loaded onto the Badger hair brush from the scuttle, then mixed in a separate bowl with glycerin and Body Shop Macca Root cream. I know there's a separate forum for this last comment, but I'm lately (since I bought the scuttle (see http://straightrazorpalace.com/brushes/13399-scuttle-users-soap-fit-2.html) if you scroll down a bit you can see how I got the soap to fit) leaning back toward my old cheap boar's hair brush (supermarket quality) for use in the scuttle and face lathering. I find face lathering soothing and good for the skin; rather than 'painting' the Überlather (as nice as it is) on the skin. I alluded to this a while ago when I first got the Badger hair brush; soft, yes, 'better' possibly not really, though the new one LOOKS nicer :-)
