Thanked: 24I have tried several of the fragrances and they do smell like the old time barbershops. For me, they just dont have any staying power after 45 minutes..........Personal experience of course.

Pinaud by Clubman. Are we talking about the liquid aftershave that you buy at Sally's? I believe it's the same one that been around for ever. That and Master's Bay Rum Are barbershop staples.

That's right - the bottle states 'Since 1810' - fairly old then!

Thanked: 4942I still really enjoy the Pinaud Clubman, Vanilla which doesn't smell like vanilla at all and their Reserve. Thumbs up from the wife on all three which is unusual as she is normally not a fan of the old time fragrances.
Have fun.

After reading about Pinaud Clubman and hearing my cousin tell me it's one of his favorites, I picked up a bottle last week. I didn't have any alcohol based AS in my rotation, so this was a welcome first! I really enjoy the scent, and I've had burn and non-burn days with it so far. How would you gents compare it to some of the other classics like Old Spice, Aqua Velva, Brut, and Skin Bracer? Is it six of one, half dozen of another with the only variable being the scent?

Thanked: 40I too picked up a bottle of Pinaud Clubman after reading the many posts I've read. The first time I tried it brought me back to the days in the barbershop as a kid. I love the scent and so does the mrs. This along with the fragrance of old spice bring back fond memories of my youth.

Thanked: 94Top after burners in my line up
1. Pinaud clubman
2. Aqua Velva blue
3. Old spice
4. Dominicana bay rum (and bay rum with Lime)
SWMBO hates Pinaud so I can only use it on days where I don't see her!
