Need suggestions for unique AS splash
I'll try to make this easy and list my likes/dislikes.
I'm looking for something unique, meaning there are not many scents similar.
My favorites:
Alt Innsbruck (very unique, hands down my favorite AS)
4711 (unique, wonderful scent)
Proraso (great stuff)
Likes:
St. Lucia Bay Rum (best bay rum, IMO)
Thayers (good stuff, but not scented)
Dislikes:
Pinaud in any form
Old Spice
Brut
English Leather
Aqua Velva
I thought about picking up Floid, but it sounds like something I wouldn't like--the "powder scent" people mention is offputting.
I'm not big on floral scents or anything that smells like a doctors office.
Alt Innsbruck is probably the most unique AS i've used and so is 4711, both are night and day from each other, but work/smell great.
There are so many AS splashes and I don't want to buy something that I'll never use. Typically, people have similar tastes, so if you love 4711, Proraso and Alt Innsbruck than offer me a suggestion.
Also, this is splashes, not balms. I have balms/lotions and don't see myself changing from Proraso liquid cream or Pre de Provence--I've used others and they don't stack up.
I'd like at least one more AS splash to use...
Thanks.

Yes, 4711 is a citrus type I suppose, very fruity.
I should also note that I'm one for sticking with products that have been around for a long time.
The Royall Lyme sounds like something I would probably enjoy. It's nice to see it's a 240ml bottle as well. 100ml is so common, but is more of a trial size. LOL
Thanks.

Thanked: 79I like the Dominica Bay Rum w. lime scent. It's very fresh, crisp, and subtle... the scent does not linger much, and I can add a splash of eau de toilette on top for those special occasions :-). By comparison, I find the Royall Lyme interesting, but a bit too sweet, strong and lingering for my taste, as with the other Royall scents I have, Mandarin and Vetiver.
Funny that 4711 is still around - I remember it well from my childhood in Germany 50 yrs. ago! It was the only scent my dear Grandma ever used, and although I truly loved her, I never cared very much for the strong smell of lavender at the heart of 4711. The topnotes are bergamot and citrus, and the base is neroli, but that lavender still lingers in my phantom nose!
Since you like 4711 - they have a few new spinoffs that might be worth sampling: Acqua Colonia and Nouveau Cologne

Do you want something just for scent or for the way it feels, too? One of the best I've used performance wise is Aubrey's Organics. Thayer's does have scented versions. Nothing too great, IMO.

Haven't tried Musgo or Speick, I know a lot of people like/use them, but are they distinct scents?
I want an AS that works as an AS should, but want it to be distinct as well.
I Just don't want 5 or 6 products that smell the same as something else or close to each other.
An easy way of putting it is that I want a variety. 5 days, 5 totally different scents.
Thanks for the help, choosing from thousands of AS's is a tough thing. Explaining a scent is difficult... I probably just need to start buying everything. LOL

Thanked: 1587I'm working on a unique scent at the moment. The idea came to me the other day while I was weed wacking the edge of the lawn and hit a hidden dog turd. I think I will call it "Cut Grass Surprise". I need volunteers to alpha-test. Anyone?.... Anyone?
