There are a wide range of places. Usually CVS, Rite-Aid, I think Wal-Mart. Most any drug store will have it too. You want vegetable glycerin, it's either in cosmetics or laxitives. I usually use 5-6 drops to make an Uber. Have Fun!

The pharmacist told me he didn't carry it because it is used to make explosives. I'm not sure what derivation of glycerine is used for explosives but its probably not the kind used for shaving/skin care. Anyways, after trying Walgreens, Target, Wal-mart, and Osco pharmacy, I finally found it at CVS. Why do you want to try it? I tried it because I have sensitive skin and it has worked pretty well for me so far. Today I tried some Art of Shaving pre-shave oil and their shave cream and man did that make a huge difference! By far the single best shave I have had yet and very little razor burn. So if its razor burn you are trying to combat, glycerine works pretty well. You can try different amounts. I usually use 7-10 drops depending on how much lather I have. I haven't tried it directly on my face then lathering over it but that might be worth a shot. I really liked the pre-shave oil and feel it helped reduce the burn but its a little messy. It makes it a little harder to get a good grip to stretch your skin but just keep your hands clean and you should be ok. Whatever you do for whatever reason good luck!

I got mine at CVS, 6 Oz. in a drop applicatior cap bottle for about $ 5 from the cosmetics section. I also found it in the laxatives section, but only in single use packaging with a smaller volume for about $ 5. Using six drops to make uber lather, the 6 Oz. bottle should last for more than a year of daily uses.

Trinitroglycerin. It has been (is?) used in commercial/military explosives, but needs to be stabilised because its very shock-sensitive when pure. You could start with the glycerin we want for lathering and turn it into the explosive, but you'd be a fool to try.

I didn't have any problem getting some from my local pharmacist (and it really helps the lather, I find), but I'm sure if I ordered gallons of it the authorities would take an interest.

I found it at Wal-mart in the pharmacy area, next to the witch hazel. Bottom shelf, really had to look for it.

I was told that Corn Huskers lotion was almost all glycerin. Was I misinformed? Seems to me to be fairly economical.

You can get it on E-bay or go to any soap making soaps like brambleberry or wholesale supplies plus. It isn't very expensive.
