Not at all. It just contains loads of alcohol which will burn like the dickens if you have any razor burn at all. It's a good test of you're shaving skills.

Agreed. I always use a bay rum to "test" after I hone any razors

Lol I love Pinaud products! they burn even if i havent shaved in 3 days, but I too use them to test after a blade honing. The difference for me is it a sting, or a 4 alarm fire...
I have found though if you want the sting to be less, shave with a heavy menthol shaving soap or cream. When your done shaving re load your face for a min or two rinse use your alum (if you use it) then on to the Pinaud. 99% of the time (for me atleast) after doing that the Pinaud is as tame as witch hazel. YMMV of course, but should you want to temper the sting a bit give it a go, never hurts to try right

I love the Clubman, but had to give the Bay Rum away...SWMBO did NOT like the clove scent at all. (Happy Wife, Happy Life)

It's usually not bad but today I tried the elusive ATG shave. Yeah...I'm good with the WTG and XTG from now on lol I don't need it that smooth.

Love it. Only wish the fragrance would last longer.

I mix mine with witch hazel , in small batches , and use it for aftershave . The ratio is roughly 8 parts witch hazel , to 1 part bay rum .

I really like it, too. In fact I used it last night, barely any sting so I must have done something right lol. My wife told me I "smelled like Christmas", which I assume is due to the cloves. In any event, she likes it too; fortunately for me she likes 99% of everything I try.

Nice idea. I might save my Dominica Bay Rum bottle when it's finished and try this :-)
