Default Anyone Try This Homemade Aftershave Balm/Salve

Just interested if anyone has tried this recipe? I ordered the ingredients will be trying to make it up. I plan on adding Glycerine and Witch Hazel to make it more a balm than a salve.

Nope, haven't tried them. My aftershave recipe is rum based.

I start by making spiced rum, soaking fresh vanilla beans, allspice berries, peppercorns, cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a half gallon of gold rum. After a few weeks I strain the rum and set a portion aside for aftershave. To the aftershave portion I add more peppercorns and a dash of lime juice, let set for a week. I then add 25% by volume witch hazel (ie 750ml rum & 250ml witch hazel), for every 250 ml I add about a teaspoon of glycerin and a pinch of alum. Let set for at least a week prior to use.

I mixed up a batch of this balm using the recipe in the link. I added some Glycerine and essential oil. It is very good. All natural and no stinging. It is absorbed into the skin quickly.
I may mix a batch with some stearic acid and try it as a pre-shave.
