Thread: Aftershave (floid) smell changing

Quite suddenly it seems as if this aftershave has changed. It's seems harsher. I find it hard to describe the change other than it seemed to be a more complex scent and more pleasant than it is now. I've only had it about a month too. So my question is: What's going on? Do aftershaves degrade or oxidize? Has anyone experienced this? Perhaps something changed in my body chemistry or maybe I've gone even more insane! Thoughts, please.

If aftershaves are left in sunlight or hot conditions especially if they contain natural products they sure can change over time. I think that given enough time any product will change. I know I had a bottle of Skin Food and after 3 years it wasn't pleasant to use anymore.

+1. Storage conditions do matter. I keep mine in a dark cool area (my closet, with the rest of my shave gear), free from moisture/humidity. That being said I do believe that these products have a shelf life despite the high alcohol content, though I've had AS bottles that lasted for years without any noticeable change.

Or maybe it is you afterall.....
