Thanked: 1195KindestCut,
That's quite the list you've compiled, got to be a few thousand dollars' worth at the very least. Better order on a payday.....
Joking aside, this is a good thread because I've found that colognes and EdT's don't seem to last very long on me. Maybe I'm not using enough, but I don't want to smell like an 18 year old punk either
BTW - to answer one of your questions, Dominica Bay Rum smells awesome but like most BR's has very little staying power. It does feel great on the face though, and smells heavenly while it lasts.

Thanked: 6i used to like more modern sweet smelling aftershaves but since i use clubman i dont see a change in the near future. for me it gives that more 'manly' smell that you would remember your dad or grandpa having on them. another huge thing for me and the whole sr shaving experiance is that i am a penny pincher and refuse to waste money on any product that another will do just as good a job if not better for 1/10 the price. im not saying that clubman is the best for everybody and that i would not like to sample other brands but the cost for some are enough to make my little heart skip a beat lol. so for now ill have to stick with the cheaper soaps and aftershaves until i hit the lottery which will be tough becuz i dont buy loto tickets. great tread no matter how you look at it.

Thanked: 118It's all about Data Mining and Information Evaluation used in the development of Optimized Capital Outlay.
~~~ OR ~~~
As I like to put it, asking others to share their experiences, so we can make a cologne choice that doesn't blow our budget.
The C.O. Bigelows are about $20
D&G Pour Homme is about $40
Obsession for Men is as low as $30
The Royalls are about $25
Lagerfeld abnout $10
Knize Ten about $30
Skin Bracer a dirt cheap $3
Floid Suave about $20
A quick check on the prices of some are well within most budgets.
This allows us po' folk a little variety.
Additionally we now have a list of the more expensive stuff to try, that will stick with you. This saves us from wasting time / money sampling colognes that, in the end, would make us feel like it was a wasted effort because it's gone too quick.
In my experience most 18 yo punks have poor taste in colognes. So pick a great scent and let people thnk of you as an 18 yo punk with great taste!
With Dominica Bay Rum price of about $12, if it smells as good as people say, I might get 2 bottles and keep one at work to use before I come home to SWMBO.
I like L'Occitane Vetyver, lasts about half the day. I also got a chance to sample Guerlain vetiver and love it, lasted over night and still could smell it the next day (its on my list of next one to buy)
Creed's are quite variable, the ones I posted last me through a work day which is all I expect (8-9 hours, mabye a little less with SMW). That might not ring true for everyone or every bottle. I have many other scents that do not last nearly that long. Agreed Tom Fords along with some others might last longer, but I haven't found a scent I am very fond of yet. Definitely need to try some more, but the thread was asking for my favorite scent with longevity.
For me 4 hours out of an aftershave would qualify it to have longevity, which is why I specified. If it is a aftershave cologne you should expect more time, and I would think if an aftershave lasted all day the house would label it as an AC.
I do wish their was a Bay Rum Cologne with staying power. From what I understand the scent just doesn't last long, and ones that do stay just leave you with a Patchouli scent, not Bay Rum
M7 lasts forever.
Bill, take a look at the Italian cypress from Tom Ford. Arabian wood and Tuscan leather are nice also.
