Who wants to drive, park up and queue at a counter when you can pick and click....?
And if you can get them from a commercial website with no prescription, what's to stop you getting them over the counter, too?
Looks like you can even get them at pet supply stores...
Maybe its different laws for different states? I expect you know better than me - I don't even live in the USA.

USP grade silver Nitrate,in my local is by perscription only,but I live in Kalifornia
