Wear whatever you like. I spend much much more on my scents than I would ever spend on a soap and much more than I would spend on a razor...

It seems to me that a lot of the guys here spend a lot on shaving soap/cream, I mean seriously a lot.

That's great, my price point is about $25 Canadian but it wasn't long ago I was using a cartridge razor and a can of spray goop.

I do have to wonder though, am I missing something?

Why do guys spend a fortune on shaving soap but only about $10 on aftershave?

I am a bit of an aftershave snob and have very expensive aftershave.

Why should I use Clubman or one of the other popular aftershaves here?

Is there a reason not to use the high end aftershave with a straight razor or is it a case of use whatever you like?

Actually I think after googling what evanpar uses, I think my question has been answered.
For me, most of the higher end stuff that I've bought in the past, has never "wowed" me, in comparison to the average .
I'm not what you'd call a refined person, so I see no need to put lipstick on a pig, so to say.

Clubman is a classic barbershop, scent. And a good aftershave for the skin. IMO Steve, you should at least give it a try. Go with the original, stay away from the lilac vegetal. Most believe its been derived from cat urine.

I'll get some and try it.

If it's good enough for Michael, it must be good enough for Steve

PS - I find that cat urine has an interesting bouquet.

An old photo (May 2012). Now, there are more. What's funny/sad (take your pick) is that I haven't shaved in five months, and so all of these sit unused. Funnier, still, is that when I took this photo I'd run out of Lilac Vegetal, and was waiting for my reorder to arrive. Perhaps funniest of all is that, despite the many high-end EDT/EDPs I own, Lilac Vegetal remains one of my favorites.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Holy crap! Lot of smell good when you don't shave..

Got some Lilac Vegetal once. Wife banned it. Gave it to Bluesman7. His wife did the same

Santa was very kind to me this year..

The box is huge, lined with velvet and the bottle has a magnetic top.

I wouldn't call it a masculine fragrance, it smells of cakes and candy to me. I adore it
