Thanked: 47Aftershave lotion
How do you all like your aftershave lotions, more of a runny lotion or a thicker lotion?

I prefer balms to be honest, but the one time I used to wear a lotion I would actually prefer it to be oily. So long as it's moisturising and protective, I don't really mind what it's consistency is.

I actually prefer a water consistency runny. With loads of alcohol in the mix. I guess what you could call more of a splash instead of a lotion.

Thanked: 55I don't like alcohol so it's the balms but I use only a dab just so the skin doesn't get too dry (and why I don't like alcohol).

You know, for me it's a seasonal kind of thing. In the winter I like my balms. The balms pros are that I tend to need very little, and can add water to it if need be. The balms con is that some really bog down in the heat.
In the summer it's all about the splash. Oh how lovely is a mentholated, alcohol based splash after a shave on a hot summers day?? Yum lol.
But then there are other liquids that just rock too - like my Gentleman's Refinery. It's a liquid that I can use any season! Just don't forget to shake it before use...
Oh brother... I guess that's all to say I haven't a preference between "runny" or "thicker." I just find some work better at different times of the year.David

I understand what you're saying here. I love the Roger & Gallet L'Homme ASB especially in the heat as it has a bit of menthol and creates a cooling effect. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of menthol. But it really works in this balm like no other. It smooths the skin and moisturises.
