Default Question on Über lather and super lather

When I am making a super lather with soap and cream what is the best way to mix the two? I tried it last night, and since the cream lathers a lot quicker than soap I got the soap started and whipped it almost to a lather and then added the cream and continued whipping until it was done. Is this correct or can you just do it all at once? Also when you make an uber lather do you put the oil or glycerine in before soap and cream or at the end? Thanks!

Just realized I put this in the wrong forum. Could you guys please move it to the pre shave preparation forum?

    Hey c-
Dumb question. When using a puck for shaving what's the best way? Do u shave off a piece into a bowl and then whip it up? Also- What goes into it an uberlather- I'd like to try and make 1 myself? Thanks in advance for your help and advice!

I just put the cream from the tube into my scuttle, add the drops of lanolin and glycerine, then take the brush previously loaded with soap and start building a lather. I add some drops of water as I go to get the consistency I want. That is about it.

When using a puck you just put a couple of drops of warm water on the puck and then load your brush and whip up the lather in a separate bowl or scuttle. Basically you just scrub the puck a few times with the brush and then move to the bowl. An uber lather is soap or cream mixed with a few drops of glycerin or some sort of pre shave oil for that little extra lubrication. BTW there are not dumb questions I ask a ton of them and have learned a whole lot from these guys. Don't be afraid to pm anyone either.

You may want to think twice about trying the Lanolin. They don't call it wool fat for nothing!

You can get lanolin and glycerine at the drugstore or drug section of Wally World and such. I don't know about preshave oil, never used the stuff.

Just curious, why the caution on the use of lanolin?
