Default Recipe for AOS like preshave oils?

I've decided that I do like AoS preshave oils. Shaved with them and without them and as long as I let them sit for about 3 - 5 minutes on my face I feel that they make a difference. I'm wondering if anyone has been able to make a preshave oil like that from scratch? If so, what is your recipe? I would love to try this for myself.

When I used it (I don't any more) I would buy a bottle of the stuff and "cut" it. I would take my old bottle and add 50% extra virgin olive oil. I just turned my one bottle into two.

I think AoS oil is simply olive oil and lavender oil for the scent. I think you can literally use olive oil and you have made your own

Makes a 4oz bottle give or take.
    2oz EVOO
1/2oz almond oil 1/2oz cocconut or any other oil you like 1/2oz grapeseed oil (acts as a natural preservative on top of high vitamin C)
    1/8 oz castor oil
    3-5 drops glycerin
Use essential oil 1 drop at a time til' you get the scent you are after, pour off some if you need more room if you are mixing different oils for a custom scent.
Let sit overnight and shake thouroughly at least 2-3 times every few hours to help the oils scents mix evenly, and enjoy.
*You can leave out the glycerin if you like, some like the added slickness and the moisture holding properties, some don't, preference is key here.

Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

I like AOSs Lavender oil, so I use following:

-2 1/2 measure of castor oil
-1 measure extra virgin olive oil
-8-10 drops of lavender oil /per 50ml of oil mix. Honestly I wing this part, so you may find that some put less and some put more.

The feel is very similar of actual AOS although the viscosity is not exactly the same. I have read that you can use the same basis to make sandlewood oil.
    Cheers!

I did it. I made a preshave oil with the following:

    2 oz EVOO
1/2 oz Sweet Almond oil (Hobe Naturals, 4 oz cost about $5)
1/2 oz Coconut oil (Nature's Way, 10 oz cost about $8)
1/2 oz Grapeseed oil (Hobe Naturals, 4 oz cost about $5)
1/8 oz Castor oil (CVS, 4 oz, cost about $3)
4 Drops Glycerin (CVS, 6 oz cost about $4)
2 Drops of essential oil (Bergamot, it's all we had in the house)

I must say that if it's not better than my AoS preshave oil it's at least as good and a hell of a lot cheaper and quite easy and fun to make. I did notice that it had quite a bit of an olive oil scent which I'm not crazy about so I ordered some kelp essential oil to match my AoS shaving cream and I'll add that to it when it gets here. I'll just add it drop by drop till I get the scent that I'm after. I must say though that I'm quite happy with my first go at it. I'll play around with the formula till I get exactly what I want.

Now I'm going to try making an aftershave. Has anyone done this? I'm currently using Crabtree and Evelyn Nomad aftershave and rather like it so I'm going to target something similar. After that perhaps a shaving cream (using AoS kelp shaving cream and like that) but one thing at a time.

Ive been using aos sandalwood oil and I like how it smells. But I wouldnt mind making my own oils using some of the recipes. However, I too would prefer less of an olive oil scent..so I'm wondering if there's a home technique for removing the scent while retaining its other qualities..

I finally got my Kelp essential oil and used about 15 drops (in about 6 oz. of oil) and it worked fine. It now has the same scent as my shaving lotion. Very happy with the result.
