Thanked: 346hand sanitizer
Anybody tried using something like Purell hand sanitizer as an aftershave?
It's a gel with 62% alcohol (close pores), aloe vera (soft face), and vitamin e (clears up scars) that dries clean.
Says do not injest and don't use in eyes. Shouldn't be a problem, if you can't keep from drinking this stuff you probably shouldn't be using a straight.

I really doubt I'd want to try it, it stings worse than my aftershave in cuts on my hands, so I fear doing that to my face.

I used a moisturizing hand sanitizer to a good effect. Just make sure your blade is nice and sharp and your technique is good if you want to avoid a severe sting.

Thanked: 346Tried it, and it works surprisingly well. The alcohol really tightened up the skin, and the aloe left the skin nice and moisturized. The biggest problem were the alcohol fumes made me a little lightheaded. I also suspect that the alcohol level would smart somewhat if you have any scrapes or nicks.

If you like that kind of thing get some Williams Aftershave gel. Pretty much the same effect but made for that purpose and less alcohol fumes.
