    Default Cologne --> Aftershave

    Has anyone taken a cologne and added alcohol to dilute the EO or fragrance concentration to turn it into an aftershave splash? Maybe add a little glycerine? If so, can you comment on the results?

    Thanks

    I have never used alcohol, I feel that it would make it worse(burn wise). I have used witch hazel and have had good results but the scent was still too strong for daily use with the job that I do.

    I pour some Thayers witch hazel without alcohol into my palm and add a squirt or two of cologne and apply to my face.

    You could, but beware it will alter the fragrance in more ways than just strength. Try with a small portion, perhaps just a few drops, and see how you like it.

    Most store bought stuff is precisely formulated. The more expensive it is the more so. Altering it in even small ways may change things way out of proportion to what you might think would happen. Now if you are talking about something like Lilac Vegetal you could probably add a pound of chili to it and not harm it at all.

    I was with you 100% on the first part, but when you "dissed" Lilac Vegetal, well...
