    Default Which Sandalwood?

Ok, I have already ordered and it is being shipped, D.R. Harris Sandalwood Aftershave. It will get used either way, but I was wondering a few things.
First of all, there is a local barber shop that carries Trufit and Hill as well as the Art of Shaving brands. I have smelled both of their Aftershave Balms in Sandalwood and really like the Art of Shaving. My predicament is that is all I have to compare, and I didn't get the name of the Truefitt, I just was told it was their Sandalwood. Does anyone know which one the D.R. Harris Compares to?
Also, when I get it and it isn't what I was looking for, what would be considered similer to the Art of Shavings Sandalwood Balm, but not a balm or such.

Ok, I got the D.R. Harris Sandalwood in and it wasn't what I hoped for smell wise (I really love it's Aftershave properties). It is nothing in Smell to the AOS Sandalwood (My wife has yet to "Approve" of the AOS Sandalwood, only my daughter has smelled it and she and I both agree it is really good). The D.R. Harriss is good, and my wife "likes" it, but not what she would like for me to use on a consistant basis (I really am looking for a daily use, not a rotation). I am going to try the Windsor, as she says it sounds good. I am going to try not to limit myself to the D.R. Harris brand, but I really like the soap, and am the type that likes to "keep things the same". I realize you can go different brands on things and get a "sameness", but I really would like to stick to one brand, that's just me. That being said, Is there a way to take the AOS Sandalwood balm and make it more of a splash, as that is what I really want? Also, for the price, that bottle of balm from AOS is kinda pricey. There is a local shop that carries it and Trufitt, and the bottle of Balm from AOS is kinda small for the price compared to D.R. Harris. All of this is a moot point if the Windsor or Marlborough turn out to be "the scent". By the way, I do not need a cologne, just a soap and aftershave combo.

DR Harris Sandalwood smells like one of the Hai Karate scents I wore in high school for special occasions like dates.

While I do like their scents, I found that DR Harris has no staying power. YMMV.

I am still unsure of the staying power. But to compare what I have been using since a wee lil one, I still have a small bottle of Preferred Stock Aftershave that I use when I run out of other stuff. While I do not care much for the smell, it works great as an aftershave/cologne which is what I use it as. I like "Staying Power" that isn't overbearing, and Prefered Stock Aftershave is that. I did use the D.R. Harris yesterday, and while it could be smelled readily soon after I put it on, it did seem to go away rather quickly compared to the Prefered Stock (Which noticibly but not overbearingly "stays with you" for about 3 hours or so)

Although I like DR Harris sandalwood I find it to be exceptionally strong, more like a cologne. And I find that it HAS staying power. But I will say this, I find some inconsistency in DR Harris products. The first bottle of Marlborough cologne I bought was great. The second one seemed diluted and had no staying power. You could pour half the bottle on and it would simply evaporate. The third bottle was good like the first. And of course the sandalwood seems overly powerful for an aftershave.

Well, I am wondering if I happened to get one of those bottles like your second, because I feel I had to get quite a bit on just to come anywhere close to the Prefered Stock that I have (In case the Prefered Stock is unknown, it was a cheap aftershave that came in one of those cheap gift sets you could get at Walmart years ago)

I really like the Harris and Taylors sandalwoods. I sometimes add a bit of each to my palm before enjoying the application on my face.
    I am a sandalwood w...e. : )

we need to get together and combine your overly weak bottle with my overly strong bottle for something that seems right. The scent of DR Harris is very different from AOS. I do love DRH though. Used Marlborough soap today. It always delivers a top notch shave.
