Default Stub tail identification needed please.

Driving home from my brothers and saw a sign for an antique shop. Got a feeling and asked the wife to stop. 15 feet inside the door I see this.Name: 20131129_141049.jpg

The maker mark on the tang is gone, but you can read "superior temp"

Any idea of the Maker and age? I believe late 1700s, but tell me what you know. More pics upon request.

Nice Find! The blade looks really clean, and damage free....

Could be that is a 'Superior Temper' listed as circa 1800...or 1820
