Default My entry into the Ralf Aust Razor Club

Here is the Ralf Aust razor I received from SRD. This is most certainly an entry level Ralf Aust, but beautiful nonetheless. Here are some stats...

Ralf Aust, 5/8ths Round Point, Full Hollow Ground, Mild Steel, aka Plain-Carbon Steel (0.015% - 0.2% carbon content placing it in the low carbon steel category), black plastic scales, top and bottom jimps, stamped with "Ralf Aust Solingen" on the shank. Place of manufacture: Solingen, Germany.

The blade is still covered in the protective oil, and I've not had a chance to clean it and use it yet. Looking forward to the experience. Enjoy...

I purchased the same straight from SRD as part of a set, it is my first razor. I found it to be very easy to learn on and I love it.

You will not regret your purchase, it's a great razor.

I have the same one from SRD and it is one of my favorites. Just back from its complimentary re-honing by Lynn. Haven't used it since it returned, but it is a great shaver, in spite of not being "fancy", just good at its job.

Default Something a bit Aust of the ordinary...

Just for the chuckles, a bit of retro design for these two Aust blades. Enjoy.
