Well, I will certainly come back to post pics when my 5/8 arrives later this month. Just ordered it from SRD, and I cannot wait.

So, who is going to show me the secret handshake?

Yes the Ralf Aust handshake is so secret even the dear members know nothing about it.:shrug:

I just got my first Straight Razor last week! It's a Ralf Aust 5/8 Round Point, and it is absolutely great! Ralf Aust was definitely the right choice of razor.

That was my first modern one too, and it shaves great. Just shaved very well with it today.

Seems I made the same choice as many others for a first SR to shave with. Got mine from SRD this week and hope to use it later today for the first time ever. I am sure the ability of the razor far exceeds my so called "skills" using such a fine piece of steel.

The Ralf Aust 5/8 round point was my first razor. One shave with it sent me into full-blown RAD. The only problem is finding any other razor that shaves as well as my Aust. It set the bar a little too high. :shrug:

Here is mine! If the Elders of the club learn the secret handshake, please share...

It's my second Aust, the first being a 6/8 round stainless Micarta. What I like about Aust's 5/8 is that it has a fairly meaty tang with good jimping.
