These razors are simply beautiful. If I may ask, what it the lead time to delivery? I have placed a deposit (non-refundable) last May just to get on a list to order a Brian Brown razor; ...I'm told the wait will be until sometime around April or May 2015. Had I known about the Waterhouse razors at the time, I may have gone another path I'm thinking. But hey, patience is a virtue.....................

+1 on that also. Anyone know, or should I just quit being so lazy and email him for info. I would hate to bother him and keep him from finishing up someones razor. Don't want to keep them waiting maybe another day longer LOL.

I would just ask him. I ordered mine in June and received it in August. I think at the time he was saying 10-12 weeks. Which I thought was very reasonable for a custom.
You could always look at The traditional shaving company they have or had stock.

When I ordered mine on July 23, he told me 8-10 weeks & he wrote me back & said projected delivery date is 10/1/14. He is working on it right now & is pretty much done with the blade unless he needs to hone it but you can see pics of the blade on here. When I saw he put upper & lower jimping on a blade, I wrote him telling him I wanted that & he replied with,"no problem". I don't bother him unless I have changed my mind about something to do with the order & he hasn't gotten to that particular point yet. Just like I changed from Ebony scales to honey horn & he is going to do that for me. He has updated me twice since he started on it. I might be wrong, he might have told me like 10-12 weeks like he told Trimmy72. He is getting closer to being done with mine. I'm patiently waiting because it is a custom, he does fantastic work & I know I'll have a one of a kind. Mine will be the first to have shoulderless grinding. I have my mind on other things right now, like my Macbook Pro went out & I'm waiting for them to fix it right now. I'm having to use this shitty Dell I had for backup but that won't last forever. I'm waiting also to get my disability & when I do, I'll buy a new Macbook & keep my other one for backup. I hate this piece of crap! I can't wait to get my Waterhouse but then again.............I can so he can take his time!!!!!!!

8-10 weeks is surely a lot better than 8-10 MONTHS. The Waterhouse price structure is on a par with Brian Brown as well. My only concerns at this time are what the final cost will wind up being when the detailed specifications are laid out. I already know I'll want a 7/8 polished full-to extra hollow grind blade (seems a a lot of custom makers focus on quarter hollow for some reason. I have all the quarter and half hollow blades I need).
Probably some version of a French point and most certainly a shoulderless design similar to what I am seeing here. Few other details like scales, jimps, and shank degign are TBD. I have a budget for this project without a lot of wiggle room. More to follow......

I think we have to agree to differ on what is called a shoulder - mine definitely does not have one (by my definition).
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.

I know what you mean. It has a very small shoulder on it unless he didn't really put what he calls one on it. I looked at the website for him & looked at the razors in larger view & see what could be a small shoulder but I believe I can see your point. I have also seen some others that don't really look like they don't have a shoulder on them. They all differ. Each one he grinds isn't the same. What can I say. We have custom made razors....................well..................I will have one soon.
EXTRA NOTE:Rob, I just saw yours on here & it doesn't appear to have one, he just did the angle different on my blade. Like I said, each one is different because it is a custom & I was going by what he told me in an email to me with pics of my blade.

I received an email from Michael Waterhouse & he is finished with my razor. He saw the post between UKRob & me & told me the following.

    Hi Stephen

By the way, I've just emailed you to say your razor is finished. I thought I should PM you here as I've just seen your conversation with UKRob about your razor. The error is description is probably mine. I describe the shoulder as being the step down between the tang and where the hollow grind begins but on your razor there is literally no step, the hollow grind feathers out from the tang. With hindsite I can see that all my razors are probably shoulderless when compared to vintage razors but the grind on yours is certainly different from my others.

Anyway, I've sent you some pictures of your finished razor and as I said in the email I'll aim to get it in the post on Monday.

    Speak soon

    Michael

I just got my Macbook Pro back but have problems with the email which they are working online with so I will post some pics as soon as possible.

I tried to send pics of my razor but my Macbook Pro froze up temporarily & it is going through an email test so I am leaving them alone for now. Michael also had this to say in an email to me about my razor.

    Hi Stephen

I'm pleased to say your razor is finished. I think the scales turned out fantastically well. It's hard to convey in photos but they almost glow!

It honed up really easily and has taken a wicked edge. It's finished on a 12K Naniwa and stropped well so should give a nice smooth shave straight away.

I should be able to get it out to you on Monday and I'll give you the tracking number once it's in the mail.

    Many thanks

    Michael

He did a great job as usual. I'll go to his Facebook page to see if he has it on there. I'm so happy now, I hope I get it very quickly! I know for a fact this is not going to be my last razor from him but just the beginning!
He does have some pics of it on his Facebook page, the one with the honey horn!
