Thanks, the good news is I have three, just no photo of the third. On all three I was extremely lucky. The first two were purchased when I first started to str8 shave. I had no idea what they were but they were cool looking and cheap. The third was Robert Williams being very kind to me and allowing me to be the caretaker.
I have several other W&B razors and never thought I would shave with such a big razor. Once I tried, I was hooked. The amazing thing about them is they NEVER leave me with any razor burn. Sometimes I get heavy handed and get a slight burn with the AS. With the big blades it never happens.

Thanked: 884I would imagine the final polish was done by men seated or laying prone over a huge leather or cloth buffing wheel run by a leather belt from a line shaft that powered by steam or water.
A lot of them died a miserable death from silicosis.
I've been trying to find a picture of the "horse" as they called the seat above the wheel like was employed in most of the cutlery houses "back in the day" and as usual it is MANAH TO THE RESCUE!

4th page down on that pdf shows some of the old grinding stations.
THANKS ALEX!!
