Recent acquisition, 1830-37, in excellent condition - it's been used, but I think that is original finish. "Silver Steel"

Beautiful - I have a W&B Silver Steel, different looking blade, but with the GR Crown mark, replacement scales and pins sadly...your blade is impeccable, and the original washers on these really make the razor IMO - congratulations!

I had a blade similar to that & that is one of the W&B blades I accidentally broke. It was slightly warped at the tang & I just gave it a small love tap with a brass hammer & it snapped! I was so angry because I didn't hit it that hard but it was just a tap! Never mind.............it gets to me thinking about it.

[gasssp ] (calling razor protective services ) ... I know what you mean you give a love tap and it brakes, and then you're mad at yourself, but when you pull yourself away from it, you realize(days and weeks later) it would had been a dificult shave at best leaving her that way, so when you go and set her straight she brakes,
it's ok, it was her time , unfortunately she isn't a ford , bailing wire, duct tape and bubble gum won't fix her

Yep..................it was one of those times I wished I had sent it back to the seller but I had straightened one once that was warped at the tang with just a small tap & it did the unexpexted! I should gave gotten some of that stuff, (I forget what its called) where ya put it all around the blade portion you don't want to get hot, then ya heat it up red hot & tap it until it is straight! Then ya let it cool......................
There's either a YouTube video on it or it is on here.

I should post my WR butcher. All original scales/pins and never been polished. You can see the original grind marks. The best part is the hand etched clipper ship with crew & rigging.

I have not been able to get a good picture taken though where you can see the ship.
