Hello Ya'll. Just got my first W&B. Like every previous poster, I'm gonna scour the internets trying to date this one. No blade etching I can discern through the patina. The scales, to my limited knowledge, appear to be horn. It's the embellishments that are new to me. Anyone seen these before?

To deobfuscate is to convert something that is difficult to un͝d̡͝e҉͞r̴͝st̨̕a͘͢n̢̛d̕̕ ̧͝
into one that is simple, understandable and straightforward.

It is a pre 1891 or it would say Sheffield, England on it. That would be a nice one to restore. I have one just like it or similar.

Yeah, I know. Many of them were but I believe the much older ones had more of a chance at being real.

They don't have to be all shiny & what not. I don't think they're ugly. I like the vintage look to a lot of them & I also like to see some that have been restored & polished up, probably for the better. You might be able to fix the cracked scales if you can get the glue off whatever it is & fix 'em right. On those that have cracked at the wedge pin, I will carefully glue the scales back together & also glue the wedge to that scaled to reinforce it when pinning it back to keep it from cracking again. I have done it successfully several times & actually saved the old horn scales. I glued some bakelite scales back together with CA once & sanded them back out & you couldn't even see where they had been broken. I let 'em sit a day & put some pressure to it as if I were trying to break it with moderate pressure & they held so I left 'em that way. Just thought I'd share that with ya.
