SWMBO had to head back to the city for a day - so this was waiting for me at home and she brought it up for me to the cottage.

The previous owner had attempted to restore it, I gather the spine was warped, and it broke in half at the tang - the two pieces were then burnished together with silver, and it looks great, very solid. Figure this is the closest I'll ever get to one of these, so YOLO....:-)

So you mean silver-soldered? If done right, makes a strong bond.

Someone could be shot with his own gun for busting that!

Silver-soldered - that's it, that's the exact term he used. Said he had a pro do it, and that it is extremely solid, so good to hear Tom that is was the correct way to do it.

And yea, my heart literally broke when he showed me pics of the razor in two pieces...when I'm back from the cottage I'll post all the pics...I'm on a little Chromebook here hot spotting Wifi using my iPhone...not great bandwidth.

Have some very nice pics from the seller - when I return from the cottage, will post them.

Saw a small rattlesnake outside the cottage on the way for some shipwreck diving...it's rattle sounded like crickets, or a cicada...small one....very cool.

Glad you are taking the time to dive some of the wrecks while there Andrew.
Both exciting and historically valuable to do.
Cheers, be safe, and check your gauges..
