    Hi, and welcome to SRP.
It is always a pleasure to see more Scandinavians in this great forum.

Now i cannot say anything about the age of your Helje, but you will surely have some smooth saves coming your way.

Heljestrands from Eskilstuna was founded at 1808 by Olof Heljestrand (1781-1837). After his death his first son Nils Fredrik (1808-1868) continued his work and also Carl Viktor (1819-1861), brother of Nils. I've read that this is probably where the name C.V. comes from. The company was run by their descendants and it was ceased in 1980.
They made also some kitchenware tools, knives, scissors etc. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the varm welcome Sailor :-)

I started a month ago my quest to learn to use the straight razor.
I bought a couple of old razors for learning how to sharpen ect.
And one brand new DOVO, one funny thing is that there is especially one of the old ones is feeling much better than the rest (even the new one).

But lets see when the C.V. comes in to action.

I´m really getting a little addicted to the razors - well one thing is using them, but also takinge care of them is so relaxing.

Before you know you have RAD, and little after it gets worse with HAD That is what usually happens.

In general, old razors, specially wedges feel very different than hollows, which are usually not so old. IMHO there are differences between almost every razor what it comes to shaving. That is why i think that it is better to learn shaving with only one or two razors first.

I find taking care of old blades, sharpening and shaving with them very relaxing as well. Very nostalgic also. Takes some time and practice to learn, but if it was too easy, it wouldn't be worth of it.

    Now enjoy your C.V.
