Looks like wood, or perhaps horn?
I'm no restoration expert but it's looks like wood. but someone more experanced will probably chip in in a bit.
upon further inspection I believe it to be horn. Any JR historians here? Why would it not have the star and cross mark? It only has the crown with V R under it.

Newbie here - I just did an intro and figured THIS was the right place to ask my question!
This is a razor I inherited from my grandfather. He fought in the European Theater during WW2. I once read a snippet that during the war - the Queen of England gave the US troops a Christmas present - a shaving kit that included a bone handled straight razor. I often wondered if my grandfathers razor could have been from that shaving kit. I've never read anything else printed on the subject and can't remember the reference book as it's been over 30 years since I read it.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
