OK, here are my Bengall "shavers" - the ones I regularly use in my shaving rotation - plus a little narrow one I have used once but thought it was cute so included in the pics anyway. Perhaps we could call this one Bengall's Baby Brother or something equally alliterative. A couple of these I have posted before, so apologies for the double ups.

At some point in the future I will get into the storage room and dig out my "retirement" Bengalls - the ones I have in storage for when, after the rabid hype of this thread kicks in, I retire and sell them for a gajillion dollars!! Mwah-ha-haaaaaa!!!

    James.

PS I have noticed that if you make a photo black and white it not only looks more arty, it also makes it look as though you are a good photographer!!

Here is my newest a little singing blade shaves wickedly ,when honing did the thumb pad test and could pluck the edge and it would ring.It makes a similar sound when stropping.

    Default One pair showing

Found this pair just hanging out on the 'bay and thought they needed a good home. The case is pretty worn but stills cradles them nicely. Looks like they'll take a good shine with a little Mother's. I'm gonna check out the edges today and maybe give them a test run in a day or so. Will they qualify me for membership?

It will of course sound different to a wedge on the strop but shouldn't ring when you strop unless you're lifting the spine & using excessive pressure.

Hopefully you can squeeze another member in My first Bengall, part of a four razor lot. Personalized for a person in Dunedin, similar to another another one shown in this thread for someone else in Dunedin.

The blade has the inscription "FIRST QUALITY MANUFACTURED EXPRESSLY FOR A.M. HENDY DUNEDIN" A.M Hendy in Dunedin owned a barbers shop i've since discovered, here are few photos from 1898 of it DUNEDIN: Hendys Hairdressing Princes Street - Hocken Collections, Library, University of Otago, New Zealand

Still needs a hone and further cleanup (was more rusty/pitted when received), but it promises to shave like a beaut i'm sure - has quite a lot of hone wear already (especially toe), maybe from shaving customers over the years.
