Thanked: 735This thread needed a bump anyhow...
Well, the restoration isn't quite complete, so I'll post it here as opposed to the restoration thread.
I sanded down the blade, it's too bad, as there was an awesome etching on the front with the little LeGrelot bell and something about the razor being made in 1931. Alas, the blade was also pitted, so the sandpaper ate the etching to get at the pitting. The blade also had a frown. Nothing that a little elbow grease couldn't take care of!
I had my first shave with it last night. This razor can take a very sharp edge! I finished it down to 0.5um on my hanging strop, and it was almost too sharp. I got one cut from hesitating for but a moment with the blade on my face. I'll try leaving it at a 1.0um finish next time to try and tame it down a bit.
Next up is to make some scales for it, as it certainly is shave-worthy!
Viva La France!

Thanked: 16Is this for TI’s only or will you accept other French razors also? I have a Sarry-Thiers Frameback would this count as my entry to the club, but I am also waiting for a SRP TI from Classic Shaving honed by Lynn
