Alfredo just re-scaled a pair of Le Grelot 355 for me in tortoise Kirinite. I’m waiting by the mailbox.

Thanked: 139Once again, proof is in the pudding, luck is part of the trick, but regularity wins every time.
These blade have been formally identified as bona fide cca 1880 Haute Marne blades.
Fays-Billot, now renamed Fayl-Billot (read Fay BeeYo) is a city a few kilometers away from Langres and Nogent.
Found them in a remote and unsuspecting antique shop smack in the middle of an industrial zone. Bought the lot for the price I would put in the box (called "plumier" or "quill case")Beautiful is important, but when all is said and done, you will always be faithful to a good shaver while a bad one may detter you from ever trying again. Judge with your skin, not your eyes.

Ore-1850 Touron set, not Touron-Parisot. These are large blades which are unusual for the period in France I think. I believe that only one has ever been used, and it not so much. I have some natural material in the ‘scale pail’ for the resto. The patterns in the third image are just reflections.
