Heres my newest one, 7/8" Auguste Bain Adverstiser made by Leresche (as can be seen by the TM at the Back of the Tang),
it has Steel Scales and is in a wonderful restored Condition (not by me but by the Ebay Seller, its a lil masterpiece).
The Razor is analogous to the "Leserre-File" Series of Leresche :-)

What should is say, i love french Razors and its really a Joy to see these wonderful Feaux-Framebacks in their natural Beauty with the nice Baguette like Horn Scales and without major Honewear, especially as my look more used and most of the bigger ones i had in my hands had been damaged.

I acquired this lovely frameback awhile back, and the pics from the auction were horrible, but it looked very nice.

This French Leresche frameback razor just arrived, and it is in perfect condition, doubt it's been used, little stamp on the end of the tang as well as being the heaviest frameback I've ever held, has the weight of one of my 7/8 hollow ground Sheffields, which is very nice and was surprising.

Not much to do but tape it up and get it shave ready.

The razor honing Gods visited me this evening, the Leresche frameback, took me under an hour...expected to post this around 5 am! The bevel established itself nicely on the Nani 1k and was finished with bevel setting in 15-20 minutes! Was a nice bevel, pocket knife sharp, then progressed through the Norton 4/8, onto the Nani 12k then the Escher and finally the strop. I wish all razors honed like this, I actually enjoyed honing this razor.

The George Wostenholm I did yesterday, and that was a typical battle, took a couple of hours, I believe it is there, it did cut hair and did my sideburn, but a full shave will be the only way to tell.

Good! Framebacks and faux-framebacks seem easy to hone. Let's hear how it goes!

    I rest my case.
