I hope so as well.
I say it is likely. This strop was interpreted as being made by Kanayama in 1966 and used by Mr. Yamamoto. The sleeve is obviously dyed silk. Marked only 'Tokyo', many characters adorn it. Yamamoto must have been proud and successful.
I have another of Yamamoto's strops, a Russian, from 1967, similarly clothed and adorned. Both are hand-blackened at the bottom.
Like stropping upon butter. No doubt. ;)

Now I'm pretty lucky when it comes to hunting down certain NOS Japanese razors, but If truth be know I've been trying for years to find a NOS King Pelican with absolutely no luck not even a sniff, yes I've seen them in nice condition and even close to NOS but not quite there by my standards, well after a long wait this one finally dropped in my lap today a NOS flawless King Pelican and I'm over the moon I can't wait to give her a run out in the next few days, she will naturally have a little run over my finishing stone and stropped before but I've finally got that elusive Pelican yesssssssssss!
I don't quite know how you manage to lay your hands on so many great razors but congratulations on another fine Japanese one Jamie.:tu
King Pelican is one of my favorite razors. This is a real beauty! Enjoy it!
Starlet straight razor.
I bought this razor a couple of months ago and I completely forgot. Such a shame!
Can wait to hone and use it! Anyone here has a starlet?
