Happy to add this freshly cleaned up TOWA 1074 to my rotation. First true Japanese hollow ground for me. Honed up very nicely. Felt like good steel against the stones. Honed it up on all jnat's this time. Figured it was right to try on this one.

Just added a 888 Hayashi Diamond. It doesn't require too much clean up, just a hone.

Well I'm new to Japanese straights. This is my first.
I'm told it's an Eiko. I don't know anything about them. Educate me please. Blind buy...
Any special instructions to hone this?
That is indeed an Eiko and should be a fine shaver:D
I cant see from the pictures but ive seen Eikos like that in both symmetrical and asymmetrical grinds, depends on the grind as to how you would hone it.
This is a NOS Hayashi Diamond that came back home last week after being away on holiday for a few months in the USA Idaho to be exact nice to see her back home with the rest of her family.
