Looking back on my previous posts I noticed that all my pictures have somehow been deleted, so I'm going to re-post them.

For Lemur: Is that real tortoise shell? Whatever it is, it really is a fine looking razor.
It's on its way from Japan as of now, but I put my money on plastic.
The Japanese don't seem to care much about handles, it's all about the edge!
Wish it was here now... I "need" it!
Where are you guys finding these beautiful razors?? :)
When you consider the majority of razors are in a drab and boring black I think Japanese razor have some of the nicest scales and finish I've seen, and another thing the Peening and finish are totally superior to any British Swedish or German razor I've ever seen, if the Japanese don't seem to care much about handles then all I have to say god help the rest of the chasing pack, because they are in division 2.
I really like the scales on a lot of Western Japanese razors, especially the flashy ones. For me the fanciful colors/designs of the scales make for an excellent counterpoint to the deadly seriousness the Japanese have about their edged steel. Of course, I think they could look great rescaled also. I just wouldn't want to break that bond. For muted beauty I think a black scaled Iwasaki that was once for sale on a site I peek in on now and then is one of the most beautiful razors ever made.
My post was about tanis and capes, the scales were garbage.
May be depends on which Tanifuji, here is the one I have left, the scales are really good.

The others that I have handled also had very good scales.
Got this one a few months ago and today finally got to taking some pics of it.
I worked one one like that for a member and really liked it so as soon a I had the chance I got one for myself.
Kamisori grind NOS condition, it has spots here and there that I will clean one day when I have time for it.

A really nice looking folding Kamisori that's going to clean up well Stefan, they are great shavers, can be a little tricky to hone, but once you have it right they are wonderfully sharp and so comfortable to strop because of the slightly shorter blade.
Jamie.
Have honed and shaved with my new Hoshi Tombo 8000 the last couple of days, she is one nice little girl!

The bottom knife is a Tosho S.2
Just received this beauty. It is a new brand to me. NOS with factory edge and shaves like a dream.

Here my two Japanese straights, both made of Swedish steel. The first one is the Gold King (Gold-Rex) with a 13/16" full hollow blade. This very same razor has been presented in this thread already once by its previous owner, I just wanted the opportunity to post an edited photograph I personally find very nice.

The second one is a recent addition to the rotation and came to me as NOS, a TŌWA, also roughly 13/16" and full hollow. The same brand and model of razor has also already been presented here by a few other members, so nothing really new there. First shave with it was today and a very enjoyable one it was.

Nice finds. The Rex and the Towa's are superb straight razors.
The Towa is a great shaver.
Todays mail from Japan i received a Tokyo brand Razor, 567 Parker. Very nice shave from this

Same as tread #263
Fantastic shaver with a dark crispy sound. Great joy from this :)

So here is a dumb question!? What side goes against your face while u shave with a kamisori? The flat or hollow side?
Sweet! Thanks!!!
Too much nice stuff in here.
My humble pic, Jnat, with Iwasaki and cheap western which will be replaced soon. On the way is a Tosuke :)

A nice Japanese razor should make a fine shaver.
My first Japanese frameback.

R.Saito SK1. Minimal honewear, probably honed just a handful of times because it is barely visible.
That thing is shorter than I expected, shaves like a dream, but it is a tricky bastard to wield.
