Just realized I hadn't posted my NOS Japanese Schoenburg 666 frame back I picked up two years ago, stropped up and ready for Monday's shave....

Thanks, I picked it up on a whim, Val from the Gentleman's Den mentioned they were very nice, saw one and hit the button, think I've only used it 3 or 4 times tops....now I wish I hadn't already had my shave earlier Originally Posted by mainaman

Beautiful frame back, Phrank. Stefan honed an NOS Schoenburg that I picked up, and it's now one of my favorite shavers.

I doubt it was made in Germany, there are many Japanese framebacks made by different Japanese companies. I think that particular style razor was nothing but Japanese invention if you will. We have not seen that style offered by Solingen/Sheffield/ French makers. Originally Posted by Phrank

The way the blade is made is a combo of the stiffness of a heavy grind razor with the agility and thin grind of a hollow ground blade.Stefan
