Fantastic razor, Phrank. I also prefer folding kamisori razors. The three I have are incredibly sharp and provide an extremely close shave.

My fourth razor hailing from the land of the Rising Sun.
Waited quite a while to pull the trigger on this one. Watched it on the bay over a year.
Finally RAD kicked in. It was worth the wait.
This razor ticks off all the requirement for a razor IMHO. Fit in the scales, finish, grind, balance, edge it is capable of taking. All top notch. As the blade etch denotes "Super Extra Special Made". That is no lie.
My first covered tang. A subtle tactile difference when wielding it.
Great addition to my humble collection. Folks there is a reason this thread is presently 105 pages. My $.02 Ken.

Another very similar to the Diamond Hayashi. I swear they are all made in the same place.

The thing about shaving with a Tamahagane razor, at least the one Bruno made out of that nakago section made by Japanese master swordsmith Hata Mitsuyo in 1640, is like it's essentially shaving with a soothing, warm stick of butter. Beautiful heft in the hand, very heavy, it's a smaller blade length, like a Kamisori, so you can enjoy a long shave, and while it's sliding along your face, beard disappearing, is you can forget how terrifyingly sharp these razors are and the edge a Tamahagane blade can hold.
I Got Cut Tonight!!!!! It Bit Me!!!!
Been a long, long, long time since I was cut(f&*&kin Dubl Ducks!!!), or even nicked, and I didn't even feel it till there was a long thin line of blood running down my cheek from about an inch under my eye....
Far too long since I used this razor...of course, I'll have to shave with it again tomorrow or the next day, and get away cut free....
