I bought this razor in a small lot. I thought it was a Henckels from the pictures but when I got it in hand I could see it is a Kōsa.

I also noticed scratchings on the scale. At first glance I thought they might be initials but as I looked closer they look more like kanji. The bottom two appear to be on both sides but one side has another which I don't see on the other side. It's hard to say if it is a kanji or just scratches.

I think I'll post it in the kanji help thread and see if I can get help. Meanwhile it has been on the back burner but I do plan to restore it soon.

Pair of Omega 35 by Perfectworks, back from cleanup and new blonde horn scales. There’s something about the steel in these - Perfectworks made excellent razors and maybe there is a Tanifuji connection. I have my own theory. The steel in these razors is super hard and they ring like a bell. Harder than my other PW razors by a good bit, and even the Shapton Glass HR didn’t cut fast. My first attempt at an edge shaved OK, but I knew that the edges were not fully ‘baked’, so back to the stones to spend another 1.5h each going back up the grits. Successs and a pair of beauties.

Love that horn. The longitudinal streaking is very appealing to the eye.
