Rod, that new Wacker is a beautiful one, thank you for sharing. I've ordered my 'Barber's Bride' as well and am happy to see some decent pics of one, other than the ones on the Wacker website.

A Chevalier - nice choice and nice coincidence - A Chevalier is in the same order, together with the Bride, for me too.
I asked them to rescale it in horn as i wasn't too keen on their wooden scales. Alas I will only receive those 2 (plus a Dorko 7/8" blank done up by Wacker) in December when family is visiting me here in Asia. So until then I will rely on your shave reports to see how those 2 straights are performing ;)
Cheers :beer1:

Groovy... Good taste in razors bro.
I'm not too keen on the plane-Jane black scales, so I plan to have Max re-scale them in Aqua Glass & Abalone/Paua shell.
I'm so new to this that I hacked up my face this morning with the Bride and will wait until my stones come in to hone the girl .... soooo.... it may be a while before I have a report.
She was a blood-covered beauty though. :beer1:
I have several Wackers but my favorite is this #6 of a series of sixteen that was made by Heribert Wacker himself when he was in the age range of about 80. There is a particularly thick application of gold on the spine. I have some other gold spine razors where the gold has worn off to some degree but this gold is so thick it will never wear off in my lifetime. I do shave with it occasionally. Love it...........

Recently received this nice straight, a Dorko 576 blank done up and fitted with horn scales by Heribert Wacker. The blade is 7/8" and full-hollow. This was a limited edition run of 40 razors based on this blank, mine's #36.

My favorite wacker... Maybe I might splurge for a Jungmeister later but IMHO the best tradition is one of the better looking ones ... Even tho it's only 6/8

From my current rotation of 4 straight razors, 3 are from Mr. Wacker. This one is one of them, the Barbier's Bride which has already been presented by TheJoker on the previous page but I figured a few more photographs won't hurt ;-)

The blade is 6/8" full-hollow ground and set into very gorgeous dark horn scales.
I've wanted this razor for atleast 3 years and now I have it at last. It's the 15/16 Antik no. 1/35 http://i.imgur.com/cKQpf67.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/xnZCKQt.jpg
Love those scales
Today is my birthday and I just ordered a Wacker "Barbiers Bride". I'm very anxious to hone it myself.
Until now, i'm quite disapointed With Wacker.
See here why:

I'm about to join the club! Just ordered my Wacker Old Sheffield Keilschliff notch point wedge. Photos will follow as soon as I have my Wacker in my hot little hands.
(That kinda sounded wrong.)
Not the best of pictures - but then again, it's the razor that counts.

Wacker 15/16, full hollow, coated steel (the dark side....)
I have always wanted a Wacker but never badly enough to pay the price of a new one.
Last week I found this baby on marktplaats, a free Dutch auction site. Used 2x according to the seller who had not managed to get a good shave out of her.
I couldn't resist and bought her half the original price. Macroscopically it is in pristine condition. With the loupe I saw minimal damage at the toe end of the bevel. I reset the bevel with a 1.5K Shapton and the Yokoma barber hone. Finished with the kosher coticule with slurry (hone on top of the pictures) and the vintage natural combo without slurry. The kosher coticule is a bit grittier than the vintage one.Attachment 228993Attachment 228994Attachment 228995
Shaved yesterday and today with the Le Chevalier: she takes a very keen edge and gives an irritation-free shave.
One thing I don't like about this razor: the large part of the tang covered by the scales when the razor is open. For the sake of comparison I pictured it with a random razor of my rotation. That bit of the scales really gets in the way when stropping. Any thoughts?
Attachment 229214
That is common in Wacker shoulderless razors. the best is to unpin it if you can. this allows you to reduce the width of the scales in addtion to removing the excess extending past the pin. If not tape the blade and use various grits of wet dry sandpaper, 0000 steel wool and then finish on a low RPM wool pad buffer wheel, treat with mineral oil and a final polish with a nice floor wax and soft cloths. Others may have more efficient methods. Good luck
Hmm, nice razor.
Don't know why Wacker has been pinning so far down on some razors recently, indeed it's a pain for stropping. As above, best is to shorten the scales beyond the pivot pin. I've had do this a couple of times (horn scales) with a Dremel and fine sandpaper cylinder and then finish by hand with Micromesh 1.5k to 12k to get the original gloss. You really need to un-pin and remove the blade to work comfortably/safely. If I buy another Wacker direct, I'll write first and post the response - all this shouldn't be necessary!
Hi folks,
Here are some pictures of one of my Wackers - a limited edition 8/8 handforged blade in self-made translucent blonde horn scales with Aluminium wedge.

I got my first Wacker this week, and used it for the first time tonight. It was an amazing shave- just as good if not better than my Livi! Mine is a 7/8 Spanish point with a muted point for my safety:)

When I can scrounge up the money I will be getting another one of the beauties!
Here is my new purchased Wacker Jahresmesser 7/8 full hollow 2016 limited edition 31 of 99. This is my first Wacker and all I can say is where have you been all my life. The blade is deadly sharp yet it gives an amazingly smooth shave with no irritation. It says full hollow but is looks like an extra full hollow. Really like the Wacker!Attachment 304423
