Being in Upstate New York, Genco blades are everywhere. My three are fourth fifth and sixth ones down. The white one is a favorite of mine. (Yes I know my razors are eye sores, but I am just learning.)

    Default Genco Easy Aces

I received an unused Case-made Genco today.

I've polished the blade, but the tail has a few spots. I don't think I want to ruin the original bluing -- it's quite beautiful.

I'll be honing it tonight for a first shave tomorrow.

Is that rust where the blade meets the tang ? If so put a drop of oxalic acid on it. Mask off the rest with tape it will turn rust or steel black.

No,that is just the way that section is colored - orangy. Rust is on the tail.

Thanks for the oxalic acid tip.

Great looking Genco, If you decide to unpin the clean the tail and pivot area up, you can always use Birchwood and Casey gun blue.https://www.uttings.co.uk/p103742-bi...gun-blue-bcsb/
