Here is a closeup of the tang of one of my genco's. I'm wondering if the 23 in the pyramid means the razor was made in 1923. Also, I suspect the SS means stainless steel. Anyone else seen these markings?

I have a #7 pyramid. I have also seen other Geneva pyramids with other numbers in the pyramid.
I assumed that the number was a model number, but you know what they say about when we assume . . .You're probably right about the SS marking. I wanna see more,
flash us some more of that razor!

Here's the newest addition to my rotation and also my first attempt at honing. Well I can't say I honed it from scratch but I did finish it.
It's a Geneva Cutlery Pyramid 7. 6/8 half-hollow. black plastic scales, white plastic spacer.
Still on the lookout for one of those classy Genco blades though.Last edited by Miner123; 02-09-2010 at 01:18 AM.

Waiting for Sue Green of Ontario Knife Co. to address any possible historical connection with Onterio Cutlery Co. and Genco, sent second request yestersay. A loose history in brief of: Shatt-Morgan bought 1932 by Queen Cutlery,in house and contract manufacturers,a sister company of Ontario Knife.Robeson Cutlery bought 1971 by Onterio knife.Robeson, stamped under his name, imported straight razors until the 1897 Dingley tarriff act made importation economically prohibitive.

Geneva Cutlery Co.,Onterio Cutlery Co,
In a previous post one of the members speculated on the possibility of a business relationship between Geneva Cutlery Co. and Onterio Cutlery Co.
Speaking with Karen Osburn of the Geneva Historical Society,She consulting the Geneva city directories 1907,1928 and 1971 found no listing for Onterio Cutlery Co,
Can any members supply a possible explanation for the deepening mystery of the displaced whereabouts of Ontario Cutlery ?

Thanked: 8I'm in on the Genco club - I have four at the moment (all mint) and they shave as good as anything else I have (Fillys, Le Grelots, etc) and I love that they are bit different and much more affordable than many of the desirable razors. I'll post photos later!

Here's an awesome Master Barber I got from a recent foray into US ebay.
Restored and honed by ebay user lax1mxr.
Enjoy!
