    Default Personalized Rodgers pair

This is a very nice pair of Ivory scaled razors. I really like the way the monograms are opposite so as the box is opened, everything is upright!
The man I bought them from inherited them from his aunt. This is what he told me about them:

"They belonged to William R.P. Clark, a San Francisco doctor who was a good friend of my aunt's and also related to her by marriage. I met Dr. Clark only once, in 1947 when my sister and I visited that aunt in SF. They lived in the same apartment tower on Russian Hill that had a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. He was 78 then and I believe he died in the 50's. That's about all I can tell you. If you google him you'll find a 1928 paper on tuberculosis that includes a comment from him."

Kind of cool to know something about this man. They seem sooo shaveworthy! Almost like you could strop them up! Thanks!

    Time to revive this thread!!!

I humbly submit my 7 day set of Union Cutlery Spikes. Some are not quite as clean as others, but they are all FANTASTIC little wedges. Sizes vary from 9/16 to 4/8 due to hone wear, but they all started life as the same size.

    Enjoy!!

Here are some updated pics of my 7 day set of Spikes. Thanks to Sharptonn, I now have completed the set with prestine razors, replacing a very ragged Sunday with one from Tom that was a real beauty and completely matched all my other razors perfectly.

I refinished all the scales, recolored all the etchings and completed the polishing and honing on the remainder that needed it.

Here I submit my 7 day set of Union Cutlery Spikes complete and whole, never to be messed with again, except to shave and hone as required!! Monday is on the right, Sunday on the left!

    Enjoy mates!

Thanks for giving me a place to show them. It has taken a year to get them all.

Nice work, Mike! Probably the biggest pile of Spikes since the factory!

A very early Joseph Rodgers interchangeable blade 7-Day set. From the first half of the 1820's.

Thus far, I've only shaved with Wednesday, and it shaved great.

Man that is very nice! Enjoy! I have it's smaller, younger brother, a later 4 blade set. These are small, 2 3/4 bevel and 5/8+ width. All blades are identical in wear and condition. It is just well-oiled for now. One day, I will get them out and run them! Guaranteed good shavers!

(Take note that all blades are marked 13 as is the brass tang! Of all the numbers to get! )

I really wonder what the numbers mean. Mine are all stamped 6. I've seen one other Rodgers set stamped 12. It's not size, because your set and mine are the same (though it looks like yours is more uniform).
